Fuente del Chorro con Casa Inclinada
Descripción
La fuente del Chorro es una de las fuentes más emblemáticas de Albarracín. Esto no se debe tanto a su forma, al presentar una estructura meramente funcional a modo de hornacina en piedra y ladrillo, sino a su historia, ya que esta fuente fue hasta la culminación del sistema de agua corriente de la ciudad 1956 la única en abastecer a los habitantes de los barrios más elevados.
Frente a ella, destaca un edificio caracterizado por la inclinación de sus fachadas, que nos permite comprender el método constructivo tradicional de las casas de Albarracín.
Las edificaciones más antiguas de la ciudad contaban generalmente con muros de mampostería en la planta inferior.
Sobre este nivel se instalaban el resto de plantas, de en torno a dos metros de altura, cerradas por muros de madera de pino revestidos con el característico yeso rojizo de Albarracín, aligerando así la estructura.
Las ventanas, dispuestas de forma asimétrica, eran de reducidas dimensiones dado que carecían de cristales para su cierre.
Por su parte, los tejados de madera sobrepasaban la línea de los muros por medio de aleros, que cubrían parcialmente las calles guareciéndolas de la lluvia y la nieve.
En muchas ocasiones, la pobreza o envejecimiento de los materiales constructivos generaba problemas estructurales como el combado o la inclinación de los muros, tal y como ocurre en esta edificación.

The Chorro fountain is one of the most emblematic fountains in Albarracín. This is not due so much to its shape, as it presents a merely functional structure in the form of a stone and brick niche, but rather to its history, since until the completion of the city's running water system in 1956, this fountain was the only one to supply to the inhabitants of the highest neighborhoods.
In front of it, a building stands out characterized by the inclination of its facades, which allows us to understand the traditional construction method of the houses of Albarracín.
The oldest buildings in the city generally had masonry walls on the lower floor.
Above this level, the rest of the floors were installed, around two meters high, closed by pine wood walls covered with the characteristic reddish Albarracín plaster, thus lightening the structure.
The windows, arranged asymmetrically, were small in size since they lacked glass to close them.
For their part, the wooden roofs exceeded the line of the walls by means of eaves, which partially covered the streets, protecting them from rain and snow.
On many occasions, the poverty or aging of the construction materials generated structural problems such as the warping or tilting of the walls, as occurs in this building.
